What CBSE schools need to do
A few recurring CBSE tasks depend on accurate school records. Here is what schools need to do, based on recent CBSE circulars.
Register Class 9 and 11 students
Schools submit registration data for Class 9 and 11 students through the Pariksha Sangam portal. Student names, date of birth and parent names should match the school's Admission and Withdrawal Register, and schools check entries using verification slips.

For the 2025-26 Class 9 and 11 registration, CBSE made the APAAR ID mandatory. Where a parent does not consent, the circular allows the entry to be marked as not generated.

Schools are expected to keep their OASIS school profile and Teacher Data Bank up to date before registration.

From 2026, CBSE holds two board examinations for Class 10: the first in mid-February and the second in May. Internal assessment is done only once in the year.
